Today, was a "good" day. I located another old "friend." She knows a couple other people, in my circle...& again, we managed to "connect." I lost touch with her a quite a few years back (with the death of some mutual friends) marriages, & family/work life...taking priority.
She is no longer married. It came as quite a surprise, to me...but not when I heard the reasons. Typical addictive behaviors...took over the relationship. I told her, I understood her situation. They as a couple, had given to us...as a wedding gift: a plaque, which stated: "The most difficult years of marriage, are those following the wedding." Simple...but, ACCURATE! A bit of comical, Sarcasm...YES...but, quite "fitting" of our female personalities... ;) :p
There is more, to this sad story...however, I will leave it where it "ended." For now, I wish to be..."uplifted," by the reunion. I'm sure, we will continue to talk/visit. We're both, in a place where we can share where we want to go, (with ourselves) in the future. She seams, quite at peace, considering her circumstances. *It's always nice to be witness, to such..."resilience."* 0;) <3
Without knowing the details I will agree that the way men and women view marriage is bipolar. Sometimes when we are in the midst of something we are not happy with, we tollerate it because we assume anything else would be too much of a hassle, but people who free themselves from their own gloom, are usually the ones who have the most inner-peace. Nice post!
